Interview: Chris Lincoln-Jones

Former Royal Artillery officer-turned-author Christopher Lincoln-Jones talks to the CHACR about the evolution of drone technologies and the risk and rewards of the military’s embrace of automation.

A Regular Army officer for 25 years and a Reservist for 15, Christopher latterly worked as a contractor for the defence industry, advising on the design and use of drones. He has lectured on ethics in applying lethal force at the University of South Wales and was the military advisor on the set of hit film Eye in the Sky.

Dr Moore’s Automaton, Christopher’s debut novel, explores a critical issue of our time – the human impact on the possible future use of lethal autonomous weapons – and is due to be published by The Book Guild on the 28th January 2024.
